A copolymer of Tetrafluoroethylene and propylene (Tetrafluoroethylene-Propylene).
TFE/P is a high temperature polymer which has good overall resistance against a wide range of chemicals including amines, methanol, steam and hot water.
Key Uses: This material is used in the Petroleum industry for seal applications requiring resistance to petroleum, steam and ammine. Other areas of use include applications requiring resistance to petroleum and brake fluid, or petroleum and phosphate ester resistance.
Resistance to a wide range of chemicals, high temperature and electrical capabilities give broad application diversity. TFE/P have resistance to acids and bases, steam/hot water, corrosion inhibitors, oils and lubricants, and industrial solvents. TFE/P also offer improved low temperature properties over most fluoroelastomers.

Tests have shown that other FKM elastomers are recommended for automotive fuels since they have less volume swell than TFE/P. Also, TFE/P has shown to have less than desirable results when exposed to toluene, ethers, ketones, and acetic acid. Its hydrocarbon resistance approaches that of FKM copolymer. However, in comparison to FKM it has poor compression set resistance.
