Mechanical seals
Mechanical seals are one of the most effective ways to seal rotating shafts, consisting of two lapped surfaces located perpendicular to the axis of the rotating shaft. (This leads to the alternative name “Radial Mechanical Seal”, “Pump Seals” or “Packings”).
One side is attached to the equipment body or tank, and the other is attached to the shaft and rotates with it. Frictional heat and wear are controlled by maintaining a film of lubricant between the seal faces. Thus, mechanical seals resemble thrust bearings.
GL-Provent SL offers a wide range of mechanical seals of all types, sizes and materials.
OEM Seal Replacement
GL-Provent SL offers a wide range of seal designs to suit specific pumps and applications in all industries. FDA-specified claims materials are also available for seals commonly used in the food and beverage industry.
Cartridge mechanical seals
Modular design, balanced, multi-spring, cartridge seals with O-rings, various bolt holes and flush hole combinations. Designed for easy installation, gland sizes are virtually universal.
Conical O-ring installed
Robust construction according to DIN standard and standard housing dimensions. With a wide choice of face materials, it is suitable for a wide range of applications: pumps, mixers, agitators, compressors and other rotating shaft equipment.
Elastomeric bellows
Technically efficient and very versatile. Suitable for almost any application, especially for pumping media containing solids for hygienic purposes, thanks to its non-clogging and self-regulating design.
Diaphragm
The presence of single springs and elastomeric diaphragms makes this type ideal for normal to severe conditions. High quality seal covering all standard pump shaft lengths and housing sizes.
Parallel O-ring
Rugged design to fit standard metric and imperial housing sizes. Commonly found in marine, textile, paper, refrigeration, cleaning and many other industries.
Multiple spring
GL-Provent SL range of balanced and unbalanced multi-spring seals for aggressive and demanding applications. Both internal and external cartridge seals are available, and 316 stainless steel and triple phenolic carbon are standard.
Wave Spring
Compact bi-directional seal, originally developed for short working lengths and hygienic requirements, such as rotary pumps. Ideal for pumping viscous liquids in the food, dairy, brewing and pharmaceutical industries.
water pump
An economical and reliable seal used in large volume water supply systems – swimming pools, shower pumps, central heating and irrigation. Designed to improve seal performance and life in applications where water enters the seal faces.
Stationary seals
A wide range of stationary seals in a variety of styles and materials can help you find the best combination of sealing faces to suit your application requirements.
GL-Provent SL supplies all common industry standard mechanical seal types and size standards. We also provide a wide range of equipment-specific mechanical seal replacement services to all of the world’s major pump manufacturers. Our seals are fully interchangeable with all equivalent seals from other manufacturers. They do not require any modifications to existing seal housings and gland plates.
Material quality is critical to seal performance, performance and life. That’s why we offer only high-quality sealing materials. Our seals have proven themselves to be reliable and of high quality.
Benefits include:
Reduced wear and heat generation.
Low power consumption.
Reduced maintenance requirements.
More stringent control of shaft leakage, real cost reduction.
We have invested heavily in further development of the SIC reaction and sintering processes, as well as the TC nickel and cobalt sintering processes, so that we can exceed previous standards for single spring seals. Particular attention to premium quality face materials is standard across the entire line of mechanical seals.
Advanced Custom Design
We also supply any standard or custom mechanical design principles to suit your specific size, equipment and application needs.
